Creating Contact Groups in Gmail

  • When logged in to your email, click on the 'Mail' heading and select 'Contacts' from the drop-down list:

  • Then, on the left tree pane, click on 'New Group':

  • Name the group:

  • Click the 'Add contacts' button:

  • Here's where you can either paste in a list of email addresses, or you can start typing them in and if they're in your contacts, they will auto-populate and you can select them:

  • Contact added to a group:

  • When you're done creating your group, click the 'Contacts' heading and select 'Mail' to go back to your mail:

  • After a few minutes you should be able to compose a new message, type in the name of the group you created in the 'To' field, and then select it. It will then automagically expand the group into all of the contacts contained therein.
